MOORLANDS

MOORLANDS was a nightmare game, conceived in a dream, which has rotted from within and poisoned the surrounding land.

A GM-less game of loss, despair, and the occasional pyrrhic victory, players take on the role of villagers who have abandoned their life of peace and relative safety to venture out into the MOORLANDS, in vein attempt to purge the evil that resides within.

In its current state, MOORLANDS is (mostly) unplayable, but can be used as a collection of horror scenario prompts that could easily be slid into any cryptic, cosmic, or folk horror game.

I began creating MOORLANDS before the rising controversy over how generative AI was “trained”  came to light. I can no longer continue working on it given how utterly detestable and exploitative that has turned out to be, and I have neither the talent nor the means to realise the game otherwise. So I have binned the project, and hope to recycle some ideas into future, better works -- Some day, I may consider finishing work on the project and releasing a text only version, but for now I bury it here, for myself, a warning.
